Schedule of events:

  1. Day #1: We arrive at Amicalola State Park and Lodge GA. #(706)265-4703. We will sleep over night in the State Park shelter located just behind the ranger office or in the First Class Lodge #(800)573-9656. Hygiene, Dinner, backpack check and then bedtime. 

  1. Day #2: We eat breakfast, hygiene, check our packs, pay state park for parking 4 days, and start our 45 mile/4 day/3 night hiking adventure. We hike over Frosty Mountain 3362 feet to Nimble Will Gap 3049 feet to Black Mountain Shelter 3392 feet to Springer Mountain Bluff and Appalachian Trail south end historic plaque 3792 feet and then our camping spot for the night Springer Mountain shelter and primitive tent camping. Hygiene, dinner, water supply, campfire + stories and then bedtime.  8.8 miles hiking for the day.

  1. Day #3: We eat breakfast, hygiene, check our packs and hike to Springer Mountain parking lot to Rich Mountain 3357 feet to Stover Creek Shelter 3000 feet to Three Forks River Footbridge to Long Creek Falls to Hickory Flats cemetery 3275 feet to Hawk Mountain shelter and primitive tent camping 3100 feet. Hygiene, dinner, water supply, campfire + stories and then bedtime.  7.6 miles hiking for the day.

  1. Day #4: We eat breakfast, hygiene, check our packs and hike to Hightower Gap 2847 feet to Horse gap 2600 feet to Cooper Gap 2900 feet over Justus Mountain 2000 feet to Justus Creek footbridge to Gooch Mountain Shelter 3137 feet to Gooch Gap to Grassy Gap 3000 feet to Liss Gap to Jack’s Gap 3255 feet over Ramrock Mountain to Woody Gap and Hwy 60 primitive tent camping, our camping spot for the night 3138 feet. Hygiene, dinner, water supply, campfire + stories and then bedtime.  12.3 miles hiking for the day. (I will get a ride to local store for sodas, chips, fruit and etc.

  1. Day #5: (Best Views) We eat breakfast, hygiene, check our packs and hike to Lunsford Gap to Granny Top 3721 feet to Barnett Field mountain 3400 feet to Jarrard Gap 3562 feet to Bird Gap to Slaughter Creek waterhole to Blood Mountain Bluff 4600 feet to our end of hike spot Neels Gap Mountain Shop 3125 feet (706)745-6095. 10.6 miles hiking for the day
          From Neels Gap we get a shuttle ride (Josh Saint the Hiker hostel #770-312-7342) to:

A.      The Hiker Hostel, have dinner, hygiene, relax, reflect and spend the night there and in the morning have breakfast, hygiene and get a shuttle ride back to Amicalola Falls State Park and our vehicles.

B.      Amicalola Falls State park and Lodge and conduct hygiene. We may be able to catch dinner in time at the lodge, then stay night in park shelter again or first class lodge. Morning hygiene, have breakfast bar buffet at lodge in morning, sight see the waterfalls, then head home.

C.      Amicalola Falls State park and Lodge and conduct hygiene. We may be able to catch dinner in time at the lodge and then head home that night.
